Public Health & Safety

This update is written with a heavy heart. I have decided to take the rest of the month off (starting March 17th through March 31) to help lower my chances of spreading coronavirus (COVID-19) to any of my dear clients or within my family. If you have an appt scheduled this week, or during the rest of the month, I will be contacting you directly to reschedule. I kindly ask both for your patience and understanding regarding this temporary but needed adjustment in client care.
Choosing to limit appointments has been one of the hardest decisions I've ever made as a business owner, especially when we are in the midst of uncertainty and added stress. It's when I feel the greatest call to be of service to others and offer support for emotional and physical well-being. To know that I cannot (and SHOULD NOT), provide one-on-one care right now goes against the very nature of my inner being, of who I am as a person. I am, and will always remain, a helper. This step is, however, the professional, social, and globally responsible thing to do.
Although I certainly wish otherwise, I have no control over the current world health crisis so I'm focusing my energy on things I can change like my actions, decisions, and responses, and defining that skill is allowing me to be free from "future suffering" or making myself worry about situations that haven't even come to pass. This can encourage wellness and care from and for myself as well as those around me.
I find great comfort in the realization that I am not alone in facing this challenging situation. Several clients have reached out to me about how to help during this financial difficulty. (I feel so deeply loved, valued, and appreciated!) Pre-paying for future Gentle Earth appointments and buying gift certificates for your loved ones are two thoughts that come immediately to mind. Or, perhaps when I have online content available for donation or purchase, you might consider these options as well.
In the coming hours, days, and weeks, know that my thoughts will be with you and your loved ones. May you be well... may you be at peace.

Your health and well-being remain my top priority which is why I am voluntarily following State of Michigan Executive Order No. 2020-9 and suspending community offerings through March 31, 2020. All registration fees paid to Gentle Earth Sound Therapy will be refunded and participants will be notified through e-mail of any cancelations or postponements.
Being cooped up at home, the financial impacts and the potential for illness can easily send any of us into a state of survival. I invite you to use this time as a time for becoming more still, practicing self-care, and allowing restoration. Please don't forget I am here to support you and know that I am currently researching ways to provide online offerings for those wishing to nurture emotional well-being at home. More information will be forthcoming...

Many of us look to various self-care practices and modalities to support our overall well-being. In light of recent world health concerns in regard to coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Gentle Earth Sound Therapy is involved in daily review and assessment over decisions to continue forth with both private client care and community offerings. At this point, we are still seeing clients but we have postponed a few community offerings. This may not be the case in the future so we encourage you to check back here for future updates.
For those who are not immune-compromised and are still interested in both private and community self-care practices, we offer the below information to help you discern whether to schedule appointments or register for upcoming events.
Both of the studios I work with, LotusVoice Integrative Therapies and Peoples Yoga, have initiated additional public health measures by engaging in the following steps of which I am part of:
Increasing the depth of daily cleaning and sanitizing procedures within the studio;
Disinfecting commonly shared surfaces, such as mats, supports, door handles, and countertops, at a more frequent rate;
Making hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes available to clients/students; and
Limiting class sizes to 15 participants
I have also implemented the same measures in my private studio space in addition to spreading out the time in between client appointments to 60-minutes. This will allow me the ability to be extremely proactive with additional cleaning practices that go above and beyond what is recommended keeping your health and well-being my utmost priority. These practices include:
Changing and washing ALL blankets, sheets, and face cradle covers after each session;
Sanitizing of all instruments in between client sessions;
Sanitizing my hands, wrists, and forearms prior to and after each session;
Frequently (throughout the day) sanitizing all shared surfaces in my private studio space; and
Frequently (throughout the day) sanitizing bathroom surfaces, including the changing of guest towels after each visit
You can also help keep our community safe by:
Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before offerings/appointments and after trips to the bathroom;
Using the sanitizing spray and provided hand sanitizer;
Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands;
Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing;
Discarding used tissues, etc. in proper trash receptacles; and
STAYING HOME if you are not feeling well or if you have a compromised immune system
I may kindly ask a client/student exhibiting possible symptoms, such as a persistent cough, to leave an offering/appointment and take care of themselves by going home.
I remain grateful for the opportunity to be a joyful partner in your well-being and self-care practice.
