My friends, have you ever noticed that it’s much easier to love ourselves when things are flowing well and our days are easy? Success, after all, seems to breed happiness. So, what happens when the tides turn and life becomes a bit complicated or over challenging? For many of us, self-love and appreciation are often replaced by self-loathing, judgment, and criticism.
When you notice this beginning to happen, can you pause for a moment and set the self-judgment aside? Whether you are on top or are feeling down, YOU JUST ARE. You are alive! My hope is that you can develop acceptance and kindness towards yourself. Every feeling and every emotion is part of the fluctuation and creation of being alive. If we stop feeling so attached to our feelings and understand this is a part of a natural flow that happens within all of us, a deep state of inner peace and acceptance can be developed and nurtured.
Building solid self-esteem is crucial. But it does not materialize overnight... it’s truly a process that happens one small step at a time. If we don’t recognize our own self-worth, it’s impossible to change our emotions in an instant. It’s all about taking positive steps towards a new way of thinking. One compassionate thought towards ourselves at a time. One self-loving meditation at a time. One day at a time where we do our best to change how we feel about ourselves.
Replace love with ACCEPTANCE!
"I am enough." There will be moments when self-love is difficult to find. It’s during these times that acceptance and seeking inner peace with our imperfections becomes truly vital. Insecurities and dislike arise from dissatisfaction - which can lead to the view that our glass is half empty. Low self-esteem also generates a lack of emotion and is intrinsically tied to our self-worth. In whatever state of mind, remember, you are 'enough.'
Three powerful words that can earnestly help boost our self-respect and restore our sense of true worth. “I am enough.” Simply remind yourself of this every day, starting now, and just watch how your self-love blooms.
