Sound Therapy Licensing
Why is it important that my sound therapist is licensed by the VSA?
The Vibrational Sound Association (VSA) is the only licensing board for Vibrational Sound Therapy. As an international organization, they care deeply about the modality of Vibrational Sound Therapy (VST). They eat, sleep, and breathe it. They seek to advance VST so that it's credible, reputable, and ever-evolving. They also care deeply about the numerous clients that their licensed therapists serve.
As such, they want every potential VST client to be able to find a credible and reputable therapist.
Choosing a VSA licensed sound therapist means the person administering therapy to you has done all of the following: undergone intensive training, passed a licensing exam, submitted to and passed a criminal background check that includes medical licensures and sex offender registries, obtained liability insurance, committed to and completed the continuing education requirements of the VSA licensure process, and has been further vetted by the VSA's educators and board of directors.
The criminal background check that is run on every licensed sound therapists includes:
FACIS III - The Fraud and Control Information System (FACIS) is a database search of records containing adverse actions against individuals and entities sanctioned in the healthcare field
SSN Verification - This search confirms the name, aliases, and all associated counties based on a specific Social Security Number. This helps us comb criminal databases and verify identity
Nationwide Criminal Databases Search - This search combs county-by-county arrest and conviction databases nationwide
Sex Offender Registry Search - Searching all US states and territories for individuals charged with crimes of a sexual nature
I am extremely grateful for my licensure and the work and dedication that it took to earn these professional credentials. It allows me to show my clients that I operate at the highest standards!
