TUNING FORK THERAPY

"Informational medicine that changes disturbed information available in the biofield is going to be the future of medicine."

THE HUMAN BODY IS WIRED TO BE EXQUISITELY SENSITIVE TO SOUND.

Tuning Fork Therapy, sometimes referred to as Biofield Tuning, is a sound therapy modality that uses tuning forks to relieve mental, emotional, and physical stress. It is a targeted therapeutic process that helps restore balance in the biofield (the electromagnetic system of the body). This energy field surrounds and permeates the body and is inextricably connected with our conscious and subconscious minds, including all of our memories.

Physical, mental, and emotional ailment can be perceived as "dissonance" in our energy fields. Tuning forks are able to diminish and resolve this dissonance and in doing so, can alleviate and even eradicate the corresponding symptoms. By introducing coherent input into the biofield we can recalibrate the body and bring about a noticeable change, simply by treating vibration with vibration. The sound resonates with and then entrains the area of dissonance bringing about harmony, which can bring the body and biofield back to homeostasis.

THIS SOUND AND VIBRATION-BASED PRACTICE DIRECTS THE BODY'S NERVOUS SYSTEM TO MOVE AWAY FROM A SYMPATHETIC FIGHT OR FLIGHT RESPONSE AND SUPPORTS THE BODY INTO RELAXATION AND THE ACCOMPANYING PARASYMPATHETIC REST AND DIGEST RESPONSE.

Tuning Fork sessions are offered to fully clothed guests as they lie comfortably on a well-appointed therapy table while each instrument is activated and used to systematically scan the body. We work slowly, beginning from a distance, feeling for resistance and turbulence in the energy field while listening for a change in the overtones and undertones of the tuning fork. When a turbulent area is discovered, the tuning fork is reactivated and held in that specific spot. Research suggests the body's organizational energy uses the steady coherent vibrational frequency of the tuning fork to "tune" itself.  In short order, the dissonance resolves and the sense of resistance gives way. This often appears to correspond to the release of tension within the body.

Gentle Earth uses the finest quality tuning forks produced by Biosonics and Biofield Tuning. These tools have been developed by pioneers in the field of sound and energy healing and we work through each session by referencing the entire Biofield Anatomy Map.

Regretfully, Tuning Fork Therapy is not advised for individuals who are extremely ill. Cancer, pregnancy, palliative care, and pacemakers are contraindicated in this modality.

Practitioner Note: In the United States, numerous providers of educational services in the field of sound therapy use the term “Certification” or "Licensed" in relation to their in-person and online course offerings. It is important to understand that “Certification” or "Licensed" implies a legal term, which requires a professional organization to register and be overseen by a State-Approved Professional Board of Ethics and Efficacy in their established field.

There are extraordinary hurdles to this reality. For instance, each state in which a therapeutic method is practiced must have a State-Approved Board of Certification and Oversight Board for the ethics and efficacy of practitioners in that organization. To date, this practitioner is not aware of any sound therapy courses or organizations that meet the legal requirements for “Certification" or "Licensing." It is, however, legal to offer a “Certificate of Training” for someone who has paid for and attended so many hours of training and what the content of that training was. However, this has no legal weight as to the certified efficacy as a practitioner nor obedience to a State-Approved Professional Board of Ethics.

In today's modern world, anyone can purchase instruments online or through local retail shops and label themselves a "Sound Healer." For a financial investment, one can take a short class foundationally designed to sell participants instruments. Regretfully, this does not entail actual academic learning, nor does it further the legitimacy, research, field study, or factual education in the field of Sound Therapy. As a practitioner, I join colleagues nationwide in continuing to improve the professional efficacy and ethics of this field through peer-reviewed published scientific studies while educating those that would seek my services.
