"When you touch one thing with deep awareness, you touch everything."  Lao Tzu

Support that promotes relaxation and functioning balance on all levels of mind, spirit, and body.

Usui Reiki is a gentle method of hands-on support based on the teachings of Mikao Usui who practiced and taught these specific techniques in early 20th century Japan. It is administered by the laying on of hands and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki practice is safe, and cannot interfere with any medical care you are receiving. Many have sought Reiki treatment realizing that balancing their systems can help them to cope better with a wide range of  health conditions, including:

  • Cancer

  • Heart disease

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Chronic pain

  • Infertility

  • Neurodegenerative disorders

  • Autism/developmental delays

  • Crohn’s Disease

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome

  • Traumatic brain injury

  • Emotional illness, including mild psychosis

  • Fatigue syndromes

  • End-of-life care and bereavement

Regardless of the challenges you face, Reiki can help you, and help you face challenges more effectively and with greater poise.

The following are commonly reported benefits of Reiki practice. Although at this time, the evidence for most of these benefits is anecdotal, there is research data showing that Reiki treatment can be effective for relaxation, pain management, reduced anxiety, reduced depression, and enhanced well-being.  Other benefits may include:

  • Improved sleep

  • Improved digestion

  • Enhanced well-being

  • Stronger self-esteem

  • Support for substance abuse recovery

  • Accelerated surgical recovery

  • Reduced side effects from radiation, chemotherapy and Rx meds

  • Greater self-awareness

  • Greater ease and satisfaction in relationships

  • Heightened intuition

When you receive Reiki, you’ll lie fully clothed on a treatment table while the Reiki practitioner places hands lightly on or just above your head and torso.  The practitioner simply places their hands on or above your head, shoulders, back, chest, stomach, and limbs. A regular series of hand positions are used.

Sessions are now available in many US hospitals as a complement to any and all conventional medical and psychological care. Reiki has no known contraindications and can be used in any setting. It gives you an opportunity to get your tank of life force energy “filled up”. You needn't have anything “wrong” with you to benefit from a Reiki session. Wherever you are, you can plug into a source that replenishes you with deep love, grace, and peace.

I do offer shorter sessions for hospital, hospice, or nursing home visits.  These are generally 15-30 minutes in length.  If you would like to schedule a session in a location other than at my studio, or for a shorter/longer period of time, please contact me for individual pricing.

Distance Reiki Sessions are available upon request.
