Distance Reiki is a wonderful option for clients who cannot come in for a hands-on session. Ideal for those that are ill or living in a different location. Reiki can be sent to a person, animal, situation time, or place.  We have the ability to send Reiki because this energy is not confined by time and space. It is easily transmitted anywhere. Clients that have done distance sessions have reported that they feel less stressed and are much calmer during situations they thought would bother them. We invite you to experience distance healing for yourself.

 

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A REIKI DISTANCE SESSION?

 

Results vary, but just like a hands-on Reiki session, distance Reiki can:

 

  • Increase the overall sense of well-being

  • Provide calmness to stressful situations

  • Strengthen the Immune system

  • Increase energy

  • Provide clarity for decision making

  • Alleviate pain

  • Be used as preventative care

  • Aid in cleansing the body

  • Provide emotional, mental, and spiritual support

 

What will I feel during a distance session?

Clients often have different experiences. A lot of times, you will feel a peaceful and relaxing sensation come over the body. You might feel tingling or vibrations in certain parts of the body, or certain chakra points; overly energetic and/or uplifted. You also might feel relaxed and tired similar to how you feel after a massage. The energy might stir up emotions and memories, even causing a natural release like crying. Some clients might physically feel nothing at all. But not to worry, that doesn't mean that the energy did not work! Reiki energy is always received by the body, as long as the person is open to receiving.  

 

How do I Schedule a Reiki Distance Session?

We schedule distance appointments as if you are coming to our studio. Sessions are offered during our regular business hours but can also be arranged for other times outside of this schedule if your needs are urgent. If you require a session after hours, please contact us to discuss availability and we can set up a specific time and date for this to take place.

We currently offer 60 and 30-minute Reiki distant sessions and will follow up with you by e-mail or phone after the session is complete. All sessions must be paid for when scheduling your appointment.

WHAT WE NEED

When scheduling your appointment, we encourage you to be specific as to your location (i.e. time zone) and the specific areas that need to be addressed. A current photo is extremely helpful for our work. We also appreciate any additional background information you may feel open to sharing that can help us connect to you on a more intimate level. This is, however, not a requirement. Please know that we focus completely on you during your session and we will send Reiki energy during our entire time together.

PREPARING FOR YOUR REIKI DISTANCE SESSION

When you start getting ready for your distance Reiki session, keep in mind that “space” is multidimensional. Reiki is a body, mind, spirit modality, so take care to prep all three before the time scheduled for healing. None of this needs to take very long, but the few minutes you spend beforehand can help you maximize your Reiki experience.

Treat this time like a meditation, or yoga practice. Seek out or create a peaceful environment. For you that might mean going outside and finding a place in the sun, or sitting under a favorite tree. Perhaps you have a designated meditation space or place of worship inside of your home, a beautiful spot in your garden, or maybe you feel like just laying on your bed for a rest. Whatever surroundings you chose, make the space as comfortable and supportive as possible; a place you won’t be too warm or cold. We also encourage you to wear loose, nonrestrictive clothing.

 

Think about using cushions and blankets along with an eye covering to help you go inward. Crystals, essential oils, or incense can also help you create a truly special atmosphere. You are even welcome to listen to soothing music, just remember to make it soft and relaxing. Take the time to turn off any phones, TV, close your computer, and silence any alarms or notifications on other electronic devices. Keep in mind that your Reiki Distance Session is a time just for Y-O-U. Make your healing, and anything you do to prepare, reflective of your needs and desires. 

TIME FOR THE SESSION

Whatever space you chose in advance of your session, try to be fully situated 10 minutes in this place prior to the beginning of our scheduled time together. Allow your eyes to soften inward and take several deep, slow breaths to signal to the body that you are going to enter a relaxing state. We suggest doing a simple body scan, noticing any areas of tension while encouraging your body to let go and soften. No one needs you right now, you have nowhere else to be, just here. Bring your focus to the sounds around you, if thoughts, questions, or ideas come into your mind, let them be there, and then let them float away. If you feel your attention wander, just return to noticing the inward and outward flow of your breath.

STATE YOUR INTENTION

At the beginning of your Reiki distance session, state your intention to receive the healing energy being sent your way. This is all you truly need to do once our time together has started. Forget concepts of time according to the clock, your timezone in the world, and your current physical location. Just trust that whatever you need, is coming to you right now, at the perfect time for you. 

If you are new to Reiki, see if you can stay fully with an open mind; one of limitless possibilities. If you lay there thinking, “When is it gonna start?” or “I don’t feel anything yet.” then you are not allowing the body and mind to enjoy the best possible experience. It’s okay to wonder what it might be like if you’ve never experienced Reiki before, but it’s impossible to tell you beforehand what and how you will experience your session. As everyone is individual, experiences are also very individual. Reiki has its own intelligence and always works for the recipient’s Highest Good, no matter what you physically feel during your session. Whatever happens, know that it is right and perfect for you at this moment in time.

FINISHING YOUR SESSION

If possible, stay in a relaxed state for 10 minutes after your session is over. Effort to stay connected to your experience and gently without rushing, slowly begin to reintegrate to full awareness after this time is over. And then, when you feel ready, take 3 really deep, slow, big breaths to tell your body it’s time to change gears. 

After your session, drink plenty of water and try to stay well hydrated throughout the remainder of your day. This is always a good idea when there has been energy movement. If possible, try to keep extreme physical effort lower, otherwise, you can go about your day as normal. Just remember to be kind and compassionate with anything that may surface in the coming hours. 

Reiki distance sessions are a wonderful way to experience that feel good, pick me up, all is ‘right with the world’ harmony you feel when your mind, body, and spirit are balanced. By doing regularly scheduled sessions, you can enhance that wonderful feeling of harmony. Remember that you needn't have anything “wrong” with you to benefit from a Reiki session. Wherever you are, you can plug into a source that replenishes you with deep love, grace, and peace.
